Mahony’s Point, the second championship golf course in Killarney, is one of those rare places where great golf is combined with real visual splendor. Killarney is often referred to as "Heaven’s Reflex", and on a clear day it surely is. Looming behind are MacGillicuddy Reeks, changing shade with every passing cloud. The 18th hole captures the challenge presented by wind, water, earth and woods. A great finishing hole, it demands a stroke of 200 yards across water to a green guarded by trees and the Lakes of Killarney. Walking to the green, one hears the whispering applause of the wind in the trees.
