Artists are always searching for ways to convey the spirit of their material to the viewer. The races is a scene that allowed me the opportunity to paint the love affair that Irish people have with both Horses and Sport. High-spirited Irish Thoroughbreds represent a long-standing tradition; it's part of our Gaelic Culture. In Ireland, race-goers are referred to as "Punters" and bookies as "Turf Accountants".
